Day 7 - 7/4/2019 - Dear God
Dear God,
I thank you for this day. It was great.
Today was the second to last day of VBS and I can't believe how fast the time flew by.
Thank you for giving us the energy to get through these past few days, I know that you will carry us through the rest of this week as well.
God, thank you for helping me to deliver the Bible lesson today. You know how anxious I was over trying to get this message across to the kids. I really hope that through the story of Joseph, they can better understand your faithfulness and the goodness of your sovereign plan over our lives. But now that the lesson's over, help me not to think about it too much. Lord, I find comfort in knowing that the eternal impact of this lesson on the kids has nothing to do eloquence of my words but everything to do with the moving of your spirit within them.
God, thank you for this awesome team of youth that you assembled to serve in this VBS. Thank you for Angela, Nicole, Adam, Jonathan, and Matt. Please help Adam and Jon recover because they are both feeling sick right now. I also thank you for the fellowship between the US and Taiwanese youth. I pray that we will encourage each other in the faith and grow in oneness. Thanks for using Cherry and the other youth to cover for me when I get tired or frustrated with teaching, like during today's English lesson. Also, thanks for letting us have a fun time playing badminton together this evening. I pray that this short time we have with each other will be spent to its fullest.
God, thank you for bringing us here to serve these children. Let them continue to have a fun time at VBS so that they will be encouraged and remember this experience fondly. Thanks for all the fun activities we did with them today, like body worship, face painting, and practicing our plays. I thank you for bringing each and every one of these kids to this VBS. Please God, open the eyes of their hearts to really know you! These children need to know that you love them and that only you will give them true hope for their lives. I pray especially for the altar call at VBS tomorrow.
Jesus, you spoke of having a childlike faith. I also pray that you will help us to learn from the kids here. Help us to see them like how you see them. May we realize how incredibly precious and powerful children are. Let us not belittle or take them for granted, but instead, believe in their potential and burn for them to have a deep and strong faith.
Who are we, God, to serve in your church? All of us are ridden with sin and broken beyond repair. It is through Jesus's sacrifice that we are made righteous before you. May this gospel truth be the driving force behind all we do this week and also the rest of our lives.
In Jesus's name.
